The Framework
Administered by Environment and Climate Change Canada, the CFR requires fuel suppliers to gradually lower the lifecycle emissions of gasoline and diesel. This is achieved by creating or acquiring compliance credits from cleaner energy sources.
By driving continuous emissions reductions through 2030 and beyond, the program helps Canada meet its long-term net-zero climate targets.
